One goal of the district media center housed at Flood Middle School is to provide materials that enrich and/or support the curriculum as well as the professional needs of our faculty. The district media center offers multimedia products available through the Media Manager Link under this website. Included in the collection are CDs, DVDs, and VHS tapes. Most of these materials are available for instructional purposes, and some for district-wide student use. This is a searchable website that houses our multi-media collection and is available and may be requested by any teacher in the district through the new web portal.
Instruction on how to use Instructional software tools to support curricular goals, web 2.0 tools, the development of the Library Media standards, benchmarks and curriculum and embedded curriculum projects using technology are developed in this department.
Through the district-wide media center, instructional and commercial television may be taped as long as the tapings comply with copyright regulations. The district media center is also responsible for ordering and distributing low-tech equipment such as overhead projectors. We also order and distribute media equipment such as cameras, camcorders, document cameras, etc, and keep track of their distribution. In addition, such materials as bulbs and lamps for overhead and digital projectors.
