Secondary Education

The Stratford Public Secondary Schools (middle and high schools) are committed to providing a highly developed, comprehensive, and engaging series of programs which enable students to become life-long learners.  Simultaneously, our staff and support personnel execute defined roles which are designed to complement one another, as well as fulfill the mission of the district and their respective schools.  Mission statements are derived from the twelve district standards which explain and emphasize the district beliefs and form the foundation for its measurement of success. 

By using the New England Association of Schools and Colleges as a bellwether of improvement, schools balance their work against the seven standards of NEASC. Among these seven are found the three (Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment) cornerstones of teaching and learning. Additionally, steps have been taken to initiate procedures, processes, and protocols in the areas of administrative support, community outreach, and staff development.  Finally, both short and long-term goals have been recognized and listed so as to become part of a pathway for improvement in the future.
