Mrs. Reed's Monarch Madness Celebration is a continuous skill building reading-writing project designed for my 4th, 5th, and 6th grade readers and writers who draw their creative inspiration by raising live Monarch butterflies in the classroom.
Students create a scarecrow for the Connecticut Beardsley Zoo's Scarecrows on Parade annual fall event.
Drew Newcomb and Jesse Veilleux, two Stratford Academy graduates, were honored at our October Whole School Meeting on October 8th. Both Drew and Jesse developed projects as they work toward their Eagle Scout badges. Stratford Academy is thrilled that they both decided to return and "give back" to their former school.

Jason Anderson, 6th grade class president delivered funds raised by Franklin students to help with the Puerto Rico relief efforts to the Red Cross at the Stratford Youth and Family booth in front of Stratford Stop and Shop.

Each year, Bridgeport Rescue Mission runs a huge community outreach at Webster Bank Arena the week before Thanksgiving, giving away turkey meals and warm winter coats. In order to manage the volume of people, we ask families to register ahead of time and then come to the arena on a specific day to get their meals and coats. Congratulations to Dr. Armistead for being nominated Principal of the Year. We honored Dr. Armistead at our RKIND Assembly in September. Thank you to the 6th grade class for putting on a skit for her. We are proud of Dr. Armistead.
Chapel Street Elementary School adopted a 3rd grade class room in Texas after Hurricane Harvey. We held a dress down day for donations and collected approximately 2,000 lbs of clothing, food and school supplies as well as over $350.
