Dr. Robinson's Message to Community, Parents

The Stratford Schools are moving forward with our Coherence Growth Model to continue the work on preparing our students with the 21st Century skills. As a learning district, we believe that all of us are learners, not just our students. We, as staff, continue to seek better ways to do this wonderful work of educating our students. We are proceeding with a Growth Mindset that reflects our commitment to continuous improvement. We encourage our students to persevere in their pursuit of learning. It is okay to make mistakes, as long as we learn from those mistakes. We encourage effort so our students can believe that they can be successful regardless of how "smart" they might be.

We also know that we must provide a rigorous curriculum and innovative teaching strategies to engage our students, so we are devoting a great deal of our professional time to curriculum writing and collaboration on strategies. We have six early release days that will allow teachers to meet collaboratively to share successful strategies to build upon the talents of our teachers.

Our Stratford parents are our partners in our pursuit of continuous improvement. The Parent Portal will provide the upper grade parents regular access to how your children are doing in school. Do not hesitate to reach out and contact teachers, counselors and principals with concerns. Parent attitude toward school is a tremendous indicator of student success. We all want your children to be successful!!
