Recommendation process for 8th grade World Language students to High School:

Spanish

Teacher will base recommendation on:

1. 7th grade Review
2. 8th grade 1/2 year average must be a B- or higher
3. 8th grade Mid-Term exam must be a 77 or higher
4. student's work ethic

Students can be recommended for:

1. level 1 - repeat of 7th and 8th grade Spanish, but at a faster pace and done in one year instead of two
2. level 2 - continuation of 8th grade Spanish
3. level 2 Honors - continuation of 8th grade Spanish, but at a faster pace and at a 10th grade level

French

Teacher will base recommendation on:

1. 8th grade Benchmark project
2. 8th grade 1/2 year average must be a B- or higher
3. 8th grade Mid-Term exam must be a 77 or higher
4. student's work ethic

Students can be recommended for:

1. level 1 - repeat of 7th and 8th grade French, but at a faster pace and done in one year instead of two
