One Franklin student was chosen from every class to receive the yearly Franklin's Finest Award for outstanding behavior.
6th Grade Students got to visit Southern Connecticut State University for a college knowledge day. They took a tour of the facilities and meet some awesome college students along the way!

The Stratford VFW sponsored an essay contest in honor of Flag Day. The contest was open to all 6th grade students in the district. The topic of the essay is "What the American Flag Means To Me and How Do I Respect It". One (1) winner was chosen from each elementary school (by the principal or teacher), therefore there were 8 winners total.
The Voices of Renaissance chorus is from the Boston Renaissance Charter Public School of Boston., MA. The mission of the chorus is to convey positive messages and inspiration to people of all ages through the performance of vocal music. Ms. Evelyn D.Lee, who is the Director of Visual and Performing Arts contacted our school and asked if they could come to Franklin to perform for our students and staff and we were thrilled to accept her offer. Ms. Lee's choirs have performed at Spelman College, Morehouse College, Harvard University, and recently performed for Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Archbishop Desmond Tutu at Wheelock college and sang the National Anthem for the Boston Celtics Basket Ball team. The list goes on and on. They have also performed for President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama, and the Clinton's at the White House.
All Franklin students learned about various careers such as architecture, sports agents, airline stewarding and more. Click for pictures.
Congratulations to the following 4th,5th,and 6th grade students who represented Franklin School at the Connecticut Invention Convention on May 4th at UConn! Two of them were then awarded Recognized Inventor trophies: Evan Vazquez (5th grade) and Symone Good (6th grade)! Symone was also invited to attend the National Invention Convention to be held in Deerborn, Michigan at the Henry Ford Museum. We are so proud of all their innovative thinking! Franklin School had the largest group of recognized students at the ceremony! Thank you to the teachers and parents who made this possible and supporting the program!

We have the most amazing parent community here at Franklin. Here we have a father grabbing his snowblower and shovel and cleaning out a path for our students! We are so thankful for a community of parents that are always willing to lend a hand!
