On Thursday, June 7, 2018, Franklin School will be hosting its fourth annual Career Fair. Whether you are a nurse, mechanic, astronaut, custodian or business owner- we need you! We are looking for a variety of people interested in spending a day talking to our students about their career. Many of our students are unaware of the career opportunities available to them and this is a fantastic way to provide them with firsthand knowledge of potential career paths. Miss Owen's 3rd Graders walked down the red carpet in their decorated classroom to present a "book report" in a fashionable and fun way! Music was played as students walked the runway and explained their fictional characters. What a great way to celebrate their reading success!

We are so proud of all the contestants and were amazed by their culinary skills. Congratulations to Shanice Saunders who ended up taking home the prize.
The evening included reading Only One You, designing and painting rocks to be placed in Franklin's garden, and a traditional pasta dinner!
On March 18, twelve students who qualified from the school Invention Convention represented Franklin School at the regional round of the Connecticut Invention Convention. Congratulations to the following students who have advanced from the regionals to the state finals to be held in April 28 at the University of Connecticut! Finalists are: Michelle Barba, Aaelisha Deura, Girriah Dickson, Symone Good, and Dalesandro Sarmiento!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and School Community Members,We are not taking lightly the events that unfolded in Parkland Florida, or what is again in the news involving an area closer to our home and neighboring towns (Staples High). I want each of you to know and fully understand that the Stratford Board of Education and Stratford Public Schools are working close and hand in hand with the Stratford Police Department in the effort to keep all of our Stratford students safe.

6th Graders were surprised with a special treat for Valentine's Day- a book tasting! Students were divided into groups and moved among different decorated tables to "taste" different books, read quietly, and respond in writing while enjoying a snack!

Each year, Bridgeport Rescue Mission runs a huge community outreach at Webster Bank Arena the week before Thanksgiving, giving away turkey meals and warm winter coats.
