Cutures

This week, Second Hill Lane participated in Read Across America Week, organized by our Literacy Department. Each day, students and staff dressed according to a different theme, with our culminating "Celebrate your Culture" Day.

As we walked through the building, we were able to see students celebrating their diverse backgrounds. As a school community, we had representation from all over the world: India, China, Poland, Jamaica, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Ghana, Dominican Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Germany, and many others. Students had opportunities in their classrooms to share about their various cultures--2nd graders were even treated to a traditional Polish dance from their classmate!

Thank you to Ms. Blake and Ms. Driscoll for organizing this wonderful celebration of reading and diversity!
