Victoria Soto School News
Whole School Meeting
At our first whole school meeting for the year, Dr. Paul talked about kindness, and one student shared what she did to earn a kindness necklace from her teacher. We had a representative from the Boy Scouts of America visit to talk to students about the wonderful opportunities available to them if they become boy scouts or girl scouts. Dr. Paul read the names of all of our awesome readers who read throughout the summer and turned in their summer reading logs. A total of 1,509 books were read and logged by our first and second grade students! Twenty-seven Victoria Soto School students also successfully completed the requirements for the Stratford Library's 2017 Summer Reading Program. Reading rocks at Victoria Soto School! We also had Mrs. Signore's class share book reviews about some wonderful books by Roald Dahl. Then they entertained us by singing "The Candyman" while Mr. Trapp accompanied them on the keyboard! Mr. Trapp also led the school community in singing some great songs!
