Franklin Open House - Thursday, October 5th 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

On Monday, October 2nd Franklin will have its picture day! We are using a different photographer this year. The company is called Irvin Simon Photographers. No money is to be handled by the school. Parents will get a snapshot of their child through their email and then they can go on their site, pick their background and pay online. No pictures will be sent to the school either; they will be mailed directly home.

Our book fair will take place in Room 1 (lower level) at Franklin Elementary from Monday, October 2nd until Friday, October 6th. Each classroom will visit the fair twice. Your classroom teacher will share the days that their students will visit the fair. Our fair will also be open during our Open House on Thursday, October 5th from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM.

Stratford Public Schools and the Stratford Police Department are partnering to present "Internet Safety and Social Media". The event will take place on September 20, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Auditorium at Stratford High School. Early Dismissal @ 12:30 for Teacher Planning is coming up on September 20, 2023

Dear Franklin Families, Get Ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). The bookfair is a special tradition and a unique opportunity for all of our Franklin Falcons to explore new publications and gain more interest in reading. Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become bolder, prouder, and stronger readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school. Our fair will take place in Room 1 (lower level) at Franklin Elementary from Monday, October 2nd until Friday, October 6th. Each classroom will visit the fair twice. 🌺Aloha Franklin ! Happy Rainy Sunday !🌧️ Just like in Hawaii, the rain came and left quickly during our Welcome Back Luau Celebration. It was beautiful to see everyone together and our youngsters were having so much fun, a true demonstration of the Aloha spirit and vibes ! 🤙🏼 ❤️Huge thanks to Jade and Kirsty, our PTO queens, who organized our uniform donations, booked the food trucks and also do so much on a daily basis for our Franklin Family. Big thanks to all of the volunteers, the staff members present, the Target Store for their generous supply donation, for our community partners and for the awesome 🚒Stratford Fire Department and their incredible big red fire truck! Our various fundraising events throughout the year allowed the PTO to rent the inflatable games! Thank YOU Families ! It was a big hit ! ____ ✏️Next week our staff will start testing all of our K-6 students. It is important for us to have an accurate understanding of what our students know measured against The Common Core State Standards. These assessments will help us plan targeted instruction that will help each student's academic development. We will have other assessments throughout the year to help measure each student's progress. We will share results with your family once we complete the tests. Working together and a strong family partnership will challenge our brilliant Falcons to reach their full potential. Thank you for your support, let's have a great week !

Friday, September 8th will be an early dismissal due to predicted extreme temperatures and air quality concerns. Franklin will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. Please keep in mind, there will be no after school services at Sterling House or the YMCA.

Hi Franklin Families, Great news, we're officially good to go with our Welcome Back family event tomorrow night. Hope to see you all there. 5:30-7:30 out by the playground.

Hello Franklin Families! students in grades 4-6 have the chance to play a band or string instrument this year. I sent paperwork home to students who were interested. If you would like to see some of the instrument options in person and learn more about the band and strings program the Stratford music department is hosting an instrument night. Monday September 11th 6:30 - 7:30 at Stratford high.

Stratford schools are having an early dismissal due to the heat. Dismissal is at 12:30.
