Students at Eli Whitney Elementary School proved that reading truly is their superpower during this year’s “Reading is Our Superpower” Read-A-Thon, held from October 3rd through October 20th. With books in hand and determination in their hearts, students across all grades read an incredible 81,793 minutes and raised an astounding $22,832 in donations, reaching supporters from 25 states across the country!

The school community came together to celebrate this heroic achievement at an epic Read-A-Thon assembly, where students joined forces to defeat the notorious Villain Veteri using their collective “reading superpowers.” The gym buzzed with excitement and school spirit as cheers erupted, celebrating teamwork, literacy, and the power of imagination.

The Read-A-Thon not only raised funds to support school initiatives but also fostered a love of reading and reminded students that every page turned makes them stronger readers. and superheroes in their own right.

Eli Whitney’s caped crusaders have shown that when it comes to reading, no villain stands a chance!
