Wax Musuem

The 5th grade students at Eli Whitney celebrated Black History Month in a creative and interactive way with a live wax museum. Students researched influential Black figures who have made lasting contributions to our world, from historical leaders to modern-day changemakers. They then brought their learning to life by dressing as the individuals they studied and presenting their stories from a first-person perspective, standing as “wax figures” until visitors approached to hear them speak.

This hands-on experience was more than a project, it was an opportunity for students to reflect on the impact, resilience, and achievements of these individuals while strengthening their research and public speaking skills. The event was a meaningful celebration of diversity, history, and learning that brought the Eli Whitney community together.
