Our Literacy Committee has created our own March Madness here at Chapel. In honor of the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments, we have created The Battle of the Books. Sixteen books will start, but only one will be the book of the year. The books are: The Lorax, Maddie’s Fridge, Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch, The Giving Tree, Last Stop on Market Street, Stellaluna, The Invisible Boy, No, David, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, Strega Nona, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, Miss Nelson is Missing, I Want My Hat Back, The Day the Crayons Quit, Chrysanthemum, and A Bad Case of Stripes. Over the past week, classes have spent time reading the sixteen books and today, students predicted which books would win.
