Fifth Grade Math:

Fifth grade students learn multiplication problems like 24 × 12 to practice breaking larger numbers into parts and applying strategies such as area models, partial products, and the standard algorithm. This process builds fluency with multi-digit multiplication and prepares them for more advanced problem-solving with decimals and fractions.

Second Grade Morning Meeting:

Morning Meeting in second grade is important because it builds a strong sense of community, helping students feel connected, safe, and ready to learn each day. Creating a class charter gives students ownership in setting expectations, teaching them responsibility and respect while fostering a positive classroom culture.

This Week At Lordship School:

As students settle back into the school routine, they are working together to create their classroom charters - setting shared agreements about kindness, respect, and responsibility. They begin each day with Morning Meeting, building community and practicing important social skills. In math, they kick off Number Corner, exploring patterns, numbers, and problem-solving in fun and interactive ways. In ELA, teachers and students are setting up reading and writing routines, building stamina and confidence as independent learners.

THANK YOU to Cora, Zayne, and Parker for kicking off our student-led morning announcements! As we move forward, sixth and fifth grade students will have the opportunity to lead our school-wide morning announcements, broadcast live from the Principal’s Office. This is part of our effort to increase student agency within our school!

CONGRATS to our first grade friend Noel, who earned the first Positive Office Referral of the school year! He was caught being kind - Going out of his way to share with a classmate.
