Student Council: Congratulations to our 2025-26 Student Council Officers! Thank you to all of our candidates for their thoughtful and engaging speeches at Friday’s Whole School Huddle. We look forward to working with our elected students on doing what is best for kids at Lordship School! | 5th Grade STEM Activity: Students in Mrs. Nelson’s class worked collaboratively to design and build towers using limited materials. Hands on problem solving at its best! |
This Week At Lordship School: Our PTA met on Tuesday and discussed upcoming events and activities.. We are still looking for 10-12 move families to participate by decorating their cars! The more participation, the more fun for our students! In October, our reading program focuses on enhancing comprehension skills through exploring narrative structures, character development, and understanding main ideas and details in diverse texts. Our math program targets reinforcing foundational math concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, while also introducing key problem-solving strategies and mathematical reasoning. There are differences depending on the grade level, but this summarizes the overall conceptual themes this month. On Thursday 10/23, we will have a PowerSchool training session during conferences facilitated by some of our very own Lordship parents! Please stop by the library from 1-3 or from 6-8 to ask questions, check in, and get help navigating the PowerSchool platform. Understanding the PowerSchool platform allows families to stay informed about their child’s grades, attendance, and progress, enabling early intervention and support. It also fosters better communication between parents and teachers, helping families stay engaged in their child’s academic journey. A parent asked that I share this out - In the video, a child was able to keep a sibling safe when they choked due to their quick action and knowing how to respond. It is always good practice for us as adults to revisit some of these strategies and consider sharing them with our children when appropriate. Thought I would pass it along! - https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ogbl#inbox/FMfcgzQcqQqMZBWZnmTLFRzzNlVlZwJM?projector=1 |
