As a school community, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by remembering his unwavering commitment to justice, service, and love, and by reflecting on how each of us—students and adults alike—can live out his message through our words and actions every day.
1st Grade STEM: We learned how umbrellas get knocked over in the wind but trees don’t!! We had a mystery science where we created umbrellas, let the wind take them down, then modified to try to allow them to stay up. This was a lot of fun!! | Kindergarten Peace Plates: This week, students celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message of peace and diversity by creating “Peace Plates.” After reading about Dr. King and discussing what peace means, children painted colorful plates, added personal symbols of peace, and shared how each unique design reflects their own understanding of peace. |
THANK YOU to our phenomenal PTA for another successful event on Thursday 1/15! We appreciate your commitment to our school community and developing relationships throughout Lordship School! |
We are still looking for parent representation from Lordship School for the 2026 cohort for ParentSEE. The website and program information is below. Please consider joining this cohort and let me know if you are interested ASAP so I can connect you with Andrea Corcoran! https://www.stratfordk12.org/o/sps/page/parent-see Core Values - During the month of January, our school community will prioritize the Core Value of Safety. During our Whole School Huddle, our Student Council explained what safety (physical and emotional) looks like in the classroom, hallways, bathroom, cafeteria, and on the bus. Each morning, the students who facilitate morning announcements will give our Sea Stars a “daily challenge” related to Safety. Weekly, the class that embodies school spirit and Safety will have the Lordship School flag hung proudly above their classroom door to celebrate their efforts. Individually, when staff members see students setting the example and helping others stay safe, their name will go on a sea star and be displayed on our Core Values bulletin board near the main entrance. Story Time with Mr. K - On 1/29 I will be hosting a virtual event for all families at 7:30 PM. I will read the story “A Fine Fine School” by Sharon Creech to our school community as our students get ready for bed and prepare for the next day of school. (I may also share some information about February’s focus on Core Values during the event!) The link is included below and posted to classdojo. Our PTA will be sending home hot chocolate and a bookmark to all families - If you have an allergy please let Mr. K know in advance!
