Stratford Public Schools Announces 2026 Teacher of the Year
Stratford Public Schools is proud to announce that Mrs. September Baraquin, music educator at Wooster Middle School, has been selected as our 2026 Teacher of the Year.
For nearly 25 years, Mrs. Baraquin has been a passionate, dedicated, and inspiring force in our district. Known for her deep care, intentional teaching, and vibrant energy, she doesn’t just teach music—she builds community. In her classroom, students find their voice, their confidence, and a space where they are supported and encouraged to be their best selves.
Mrs. Baraquin once said, “I don’t teach mid, I teach fire,” and those words embody her approach to education. Whether leading a rehearsal, mentoring new teachers, or uplifting a student, she brings her full heart to the work each and every day.
As the most veteran music teacher at Wooster Middle School, Mrs. Baraquin has shaped generations of students and has served as a mentor and anchor for her colleagues. While she is not one to seek the spotlight, her impact has been felt widely—and this recognition is well-deserved.
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. September Baraquin, Stratford Public Schools’ 2026 Teacher of the Year!
