Student Voice Matters - Leadership Begins At Any Age

Eli Whitney Elementary School believes that student voice matters and that leadership begins at any age! This month, the school kicked off three student leadership groups: Student Advisory, Student Council, and Safety Patrols. Each group provides students with meaningful opportunities to take on responsibility, share their ideas, and make a positive impact on our school community.

Our Safety Patrols are focused on keeping students safe during arrival and dismissal while modeling responsibility and respect. Student Council members will work to build school spirit, promote inclusiveness, and give back to the community. Through Student Advisory, students will help create a shared vision for Eli Whitney, collaborate with one another, and turn their ideas into action.

These leadership opportunities directly support our district's Portrait of a Graduate, helping students grow as communicators, collaborators, lifelong learners, compassionate and engaged community members, and solution-driven problem solvers.

By giving students a voice and a meaningful role in shaping their school experience, we are helping them recognize that their ideas matter and that they have the power to make a difference. We can't wait to see how our student leaders help Eli Whitney continue to make waves this year!
