School Scholarship Fund

The following scholarships have an academic requirement:

BUNNELL HIGH SCHOOL PARENT-TEACHER-STUDENT ASSOC. AWARDS

Based on scholarship, school activity, character and school/community service.

BUNNELL HIGH SCHOOL FACULTY AWARDS

Based on scholarship and contributions to the school.

THE FRANK SCOTT BUNNELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a student interested in the humanities and the arts.

THE DOROTHEA E. ADAMCHAK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a student who attended Flood Intermediate School, who has demonstrated outstanding qualities of service to the school and/or community, and who has maintained a good scholastic standing.

MICHAEL C. REILLY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a student who is related to a professional firefighter and who plans to continue education.

THE CHARLES FENTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a senior who exemplifies good citizenship and plans to pursue a career in teaching.

THE PEARL S. BACH SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a graduating senior entering the field of elementary education. Preference will be given to a graduate of Nichols School.

THE ALBERTA MARIE GROSNER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a student of Slovak heritage (either parent to be of Slovak ancestry) who has demonstrated outstanding scholarship and creative ability.

THE PHILIP E. NESS SCHOLARSHIP

Given for effort and scholastic accomplishment.

THE PAUL D. KALAFUS ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a student demonstrating outstanding qualities of trustworthiness, individuality, tenacity and whose spirit and self-sacrifice enhanced team spirit and success. Athletic ABILITY need not be a factor.

THE STRATFORD RECREATION SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a graduating senior who demonstrates good character and scholarship and has participated in a recreation department program.

BUNNELL MARCHING BAND AWARDS

Given to graduating marching band members (musicians and auxiliaries) who have been members for at least three years, have done the most to promote the standards of the band and the guard, exhibited enthusiasm and leadership, and had regular attendance at practice and events.

PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATIONS COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a student planning to continue education in any field. Scholastic ability, leadership, and citizenship are considerations. The student must have attended a P.T.A. school for two years and whose parent is a member and/or involved in the P.T.A.

CHAPEL STREET SCHOOL P.T.A. SCHOLARSHIPS

Given to an alumni of Chapel Street School.

FRANKLIN SCHOOL P.T.A. SCHOLARSHIP

Given for scholarship and character. Student must have attended Franklin School for a minimum of four years.

SECOND HILL LANE SCHOOL P.T.A. SCHOLARSHIPS

Given to an alumni of Second Hill Lane School. Good scholarship and participation in school and community activities are considerations.

WOOSTER MIDDLE SCHOOL P.T.A. AWARDS

Given to an alumnus of Wooster based on character, scholarship, and leadership.

THE HENRY E. CRAWFORD SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a graduate who will enter a program of higher education.

THE STRATFORD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a graduating senior who plans to pursue further education in the field of business.

GREATER BRIDGEPORT RETIRED TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a student who is planning to further his/her education and who meets the following criteria: scholarship, citizenship, and desires to pursue a career in education. (A future teacher!)

THE ALICE HAWLEY SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a deserving and diligent high school senior who wishes to further his/her career either in the field of education or human services.

THE JUDY O'BRIEN SHERIDAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Given to a graduating senior who is planning a career in elementary education.

THE ERIN BABINEAU MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Given to an alumnus of Chapel Street School who has demonstrated academic scholarship, outstanding character and is pursuing a career in elementary education.
