Keep in close contact with your counselor.
• Call all colleges you still need to visit and make arrangements for tour and interviews.
• Register for October SAT, SAT Subject Tests if needed. You may register online: www.collegeboard Or, booklets available in
Guidance office.
• Students requesting accommodations must include eligibility form with mail registration form. If applying online, student’s requesting
accommodations must include the SSD eligibility code when registering.
• Register for November SAT, SAT Subject Tests if needed. High School code for SAT is 070756.
• Register for ACT, if wanting an alternative test. Deadlines are a month before test.
• Request applications from colleges or visit website.
• Decide if you are applying for early decision or early action and notify guidance counselor.
• Sign up to meet with college representatives in the Career Center.
• Get rank in class from Guidance Office and review high school transcript.
• Student-Athletes – register with the NCAA Eligibility Center at www.NCAAstudent.org Send SAT/ACT scores to NCAA Eligibility
Center. NCAA Code: 9999
• Update activity sheet.
• Ask teachers if they are willing to write college recommendations, if needed. Provide teacher with an updated activity sheet and allow
ample time (3 weeks suggested) for them to complete recommendation letter.
• Remember to send scores directly from College Board and/or ACT to colleges directly.
OCTOBER
• Keep in close contact with your counselor.
• Make a full period appointment with your counselor and fill out questionnaire for counselor letter of recommendation.
(AT LEAST 4 WEEKS PRIOR TO COLLEGE APPLICATION DEADLINE.)
• File any applications for early decision or early action.
• Register for December SAT or Sat Subject Tests if necessary.
• Check your SAT admission ticket to find out if your SAT’s have been sent to college. Fill out an additional score report form for any
colleges you want to receive your scores.
REMEMBER YOU MUST HAVE YOUR SCORES SENT DIRECTLY TO THE COLLEGES FROM THE COLLEGE BOARD.
NO STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES WILL BE INCLUDED ON YOUR HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT.

• File for State of Connecticut and local scholarships. Many will be announced or received in homerooms.
• Check Guidance Office for scholarships forms.
NOVEMBER
• Keep in close contact with your counselor.
• Take November SAT, Subject Tests, if appropriate.
• Continue visiting colleges.
• Make a full period appointment with your counselor and fill out questionnaire for counselor letter of recommendation (at least 2 weeks
before college due date.)
• Continue seeing college representatives.
• Check to be sure that your SAT scores are being sent from College Board (NOT from Bunnell High School) to all your colleges.
DECEMBER
• Keep in close contact with your counselor.
• Get back November SAT results.
• Sign up for January SAT or Subject Tests if necessary.
• Early Decision, Early Action notifications begin to be sent out by colleges. Please inform counselor of notification.
• Remember to send scores directly from College Board and/or ACT to colleges directly.
• Attend Financial aid workshop at Bunnell High School (held in November)
• Pick up online worksheet for Financial Aid Form FAFSA. Begin preparing this form – but you may not file it until January 1st.
• Take December SAT, Subject Tests if necessary.
JANUARY
• File FAFSA form for financial aid (DO NOT FILE BEFORE JANUARY 1st.)
• Take SAT or Subject Tests if necessary.
• Receive scores from December SAT or Subject Tests.
• Be sure you have sent scores directly to colleges from College Board or ACT.
• Rolling admission schools will begin to notify students.
• Midyear grades will be sent to all schools.
FEBRUARY – MAY
• Inform counselor of all college results. Final transcript needs to be sent to college you will attend.
• Complete applications and interview for local scholarships.
