Housatonic Community College/High School Partnership Program

High School Partnership Program (HSP)

Housatonic and many area high schools have signed agreements, which permit eligible high school juniors and seniors to enroll in college-level credit courses at Housatonic at no cost under the Housatonic High School Partnership Program. To be eligible for consideration, students must have the written recommendation of their high school principal or counselor, have at least an 80 (“B”) academic average, and test into college-level (non-remedial) courses. Students admitted under the High School Partnership Program are responsible for the cost of their books and transportation. Each high school is limited to enrolling one student each semester

The HCC/High School Partnership Program gives high school students an opportunity to earn college credits while in high school at no tuition charge. Each high school may nominate one student.

The program will operate under the following guidelines:

  • Tuition will be paid for by Housatonic Community College

  • Transportation, books, or other fees or costs will be borne by the student

  • The principal, or his/her designee, will be responsible for approving all courses taken by students

  • Students will be allowed to enroll (in one course only) with the approval of the principal, which, 1) are not offered by our high school’s program of studies, e.g. Italian: 2) course where an irresolvable conflict prevents a student from taking a course

  • Students must complete a HSP Admissions Application

  • New students must also take a college Basic Skills Assessment (Placement) Test.

  • The student must contact the testing coordinator to schedule the placement test at (203) 332-5217. Housatonic will then contact the student directly regarding the testing, advising, orientation and registration). Proof of immunization to include one rubella and two measles inoculations is required
