STRATFORD HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
The Stratford High School Athletic Association Officers are elected by the entire student body. The officers include president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer. The officers are under the guidance of the school’s Athletic Director and they also comprise his home room, where much of the daily athletic business is discussed and conducted.
In order to be part of the Athletic Association, the student must participate in a school-sponsored sport and be in good academic standing. CIAC eligibility rules are used to check eligibility. However, any officer who receives a failing grade in any course is immediately removed from office. All students are eligible to run for election, which are held each spring.
The Athletic Association conducts the annual Red Devils Booster Club membership drive in the fall, which provides discounted season passes for students and adults with the proceeds benefiting both the Stratford High School AA and the Red Devils Booster Club.
Officers meet with the Athletic Director to arrange and implement all pep rallies and awards ceremonies throughout the school year. They also assist with conducting the annual Thanksgiving food drive, 8th Grade Orientation program for prospective student-athletes, season sports signups, the season senior night recognition programs, and they provide game-day assistance when needed. They also assist in annual pre-season meetings with student-athletes, the athletic director, and school principal.
In the spring, the officers play a prominent role in the annual Stratford High School Senior Athlete/Athletic Hall of Fame dinner. The Athletic Association conducts the annual Red Devils Booster Club membership drive in the fall, which provides discounted season passes for students and adults with the proceeds benefitting both the Stratford High School AA and the Red Devils Booster Club.
