The U.S. Department of Education and the Stratford Public School enforces, among other statutes, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. Title IX states:
"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal assistance."
NOTICE OF THE TITLE IX COORDINATOR
Stratford High School's Title IX Coordinator is Jack Petion, Assistant Principal. Any individual may make a report of sex discrimination and/or sexual harassment directly to the Title IX Coordinator using any one, or multiple, of the following points of contact:

The Title IX Coordinator manages Stratford High School's compliance with Title IX, Title VII and Connecticut law with respect to sexual harassment and/or sex discrimination, and is an available resource to anyone seeking information or wishing to file a formal complaint of same. When a student feels that such person has been subjected to discrimination on the basis of sex in any District program or activity, including without limitation being subjected to sexual harassment, such person may contact the Title IX Coordinator or utilize the Title IX, Title VII and Connecticut law grievance systems set forth herein to bring concerns forward for the purpose of obtaining a prompt and equitable resolution.
